Welcome to the Akua Owusu Afriyieh Foundation (AOA), a charitable organization founded by Hon. Nana Akua Owusu Afriyieh with a vision to provide comprehensive support and assistance to women, girls, and other vulnerable groups in society. Our foundation's main goal is to promote the sustainable living of women by providing them with job creation, skill training, and interest-free financing programs.
We believe in the power of education and aim to assist female children in accessing high-quality education, which is why we have programs in place to support their education and well-being. Additionally, we place a heavy emphasis on the socioeconomic advancement of widows, who are often overlooked by society. Our foundation offers widow and widower programs that provide socioeconomic support to these individuals, including healthcare access and social inclusion.
Since our founding in 2017, the AOA Foundation has impacted the lives of thousands of people across Ghana.
Our foundation is committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve. We provide petty traders with capital support for their businesses, offer an aged program to support and care for senior citizens, and provide girls the requisite support to access quality education.
We also provide widows with bread, soap-making skills, and other means of subsistence to better their lives and those of their dependents.
